Waterford Clubs had two athletes, a coach and another athlete officiating at the 2019 Special Olympics World Games held in Abu Dhabi, representing Team Ireland

Our athletes came home with medals, Willie McGrath with a bronze for Soccer and Kellie O’Donnell, 3 sliver medals in Gymnastics. George Fitzgerald traveled as a Basketball Table official and acquitted himself with distinction and also got to referee one of the basketball games and one of our club coaches Emmett O’Toole was part of the coaching setup of the soccer team that won bronze.
