The Munster Floorball Team launch was held in the Carriganore Campus of IT Waterford this Sunday. Our Bocce players recently took part in a competition in UL. There were some great matches on the day and all our athletes gave a good account of themselves. As usual they returned with plenty of medals and ribbons following a successful tournament.

Waterford Clubs Annual Awards Night was recently held in the Tower Hotel in Waterford. Special Guest on the night to present the various awards was former Waterford Senior Hurling Manager Derek McGrath.

Leinster House ran a reception for Team Ireland Athletes that competed recently at the World Games in Abu Dhabi. Kellie O'Donnell who won three medals at the games represented Waterford Clubs at the event, which was attended by a number of dignitaries.

Special Olympics Munster have commissioned a new trophy for the Men's Floorball competition named after one of Waterford Clubs great athletes the late Aidan Cross. A fitting tribute seeing as Aidan was the first Waterford Athlete to represent Ireland at a World games in Floorball.

On Saturday May 12th 2018 Athletes from Special Olympics Waterford Athletics Club took part in the largest ever one day Special Olympics Athletics competition held in Munster in CIT Cork, with over 250 athletes from the region taking part.
