Last Sunday members of Waterford Clubs from various sports attended the last group training session in preparation for the Ireland Games which are to be held in Dublin from June 14th – 17th.

Waterford Clubs have four athletes who have been picked to represent Munster at Basketball, Mark Ledwell and George Fitzgerald are on the Division one team and David Dobbyn and Chris Walsh are on the Division two Munster team.

The end of training last Sunday for the Division one team culminated in a Challenge game versus against a local Youth basketball team, Limerick Celtics in the UL Arena.

The game turned into a great workout for the Munster squad, with a free flowing end to end spectacle watched by many of the attendance. Highlight of the game was George Fitzgerald’s three pointer buzzer beater right at the end of the match.
