Last Monday in City Hall Cork, was the official launch night of Team Munster for the 2018 Special Olympic Ireland Games.
There will be thirty three Waterford Athletes representing Team Munster at the Ireland Games which are being held in Dublin from June 14th – June 17th.
Twenty four Waterford Athletes attended the Launch in City Hall Cork, accompanied by their Coach/Chaperones.
The night was a very special night for two of our Waterford Athletes. Damian Kirwan had the distinct honor of leading the “Law Enforcement Torch Run” into City Hall Cork, whereas Seamus Phelan was interviewed on Facebook Live by KC of Cork 96FM as the representative of Waterford Clubs. Seamus and Damian are both representing Waterford and Munster at the National games in Soccer.
The athletes were welcomed to City Hall Cork by Deputy Lord Mayor, Cllr. Fergal Dennehy. MC on the night was KC from Cork’s 96FM.
A great night was had by all the athletes. Waterford Clubs would like to thank Special Olympics Munster and all the volunteers at City Hall who provided the food and music on the night.
